Job Description

We are seeking an experienced electrical foreman to lead skilled technicians on a variety of construction and installation projects. In this role, you oversee field work, coordinate installations, and ensure that all electrical systems and conduit runs are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise technicians on electrical construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate and perform electrical installations, including switchgear, wiring, and cable systems on job sites.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to plan and execute conduit runs and electrical layouts.
  • Install, bend, and run conduit, ensuring proper routing, support, and compliance with relevant codes and project specifications.
  • Oversee and assist with pulling wire and cable through conduit and raceways, verifying correct connections and terminations.
  • Perform troubleshooting on electrical systems and equipment to identify issues and implement effective repairs or adjustments.
  • Ensure all work follows safety regulations, site rules, and industry best practices, promoting a safe work environment for the crew.
  • Coordinate daily tasks, allocate labor and resources, and communicate project status and needs to stakeholders as required.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, functionality, and compliance with project requirements, making corrections when necessary.
  • Support mechanical aspects of installations related to electrical systems, including mounting, securing, and aligning equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in electrical construction environments, with hands-on responsibility for installations and troubleshooting.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction documents.
  • Advanced skills in conduit installation and bending, including planning and executing complex conduit runs.
  • Proficiency in electrical wiring, cable installation, and pulling wire through conduit and raceways.
  • Experience working with switchgear and related electrical equipment in construction or industrial settings.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in the field.
  • Mechanical aptitude to support installation, mounting, and alignment of electrical components and equipment.
  • Ability to lead and direct technicians on site, coordinating tasks and maintaining productivity and safety.
  • Capacity to work outdoors on construction sites for extended periods, including long shifts as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in electrical or construction trades, such as journeyman-level experience or equivalent field exposure.
  • Comfort working from detailed schematics and project drawings in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience managing or supervising crews on installation projects.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended schedules, including 6-day weeks and 12-hour shifts when required.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites, including those more than 75 miles from home with per diem support.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and other trades on site.
  • Commitment to safety practices and adherence to site-specific procedures and standards.

Work Environment

This role is based outdoors on active construction sites, working directly with electrical and mechanical systems in the field. You can expect a physically demanding environment that includes long shifts, typically a schedule of six 12-hour days, with work around conduit, wiring, switchgear, and related equipment. The position involves travel to various job locations, and a per diem is provided for sites more than 75 miles from home. Work is performed in standard construction attire appropriate for outdoor conditions and safety requirements, with regular exposure to weather and typical job-site noise and activity.

This position pays $80/h per diem for candidates who live more than 75 miles away from the jobsite!

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McGregor, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr.
