About the Role

Talpa Supermarkets is seeking an experienced and results-driven Store Operations Manager (Bilingual) to lead overall store operations and drive operational excellence, profitability, and an outstanding customer experience. This role serves as the senior leader on site and is responsible for overseeing all departments, developing high-performing teams, managing financial results, and ensuring compliance with company standards and food safety regulations.

The Store Operations Manager ( Bilingual) plays a critical leadership role in executing company strategy at the store level while fostering a positive, accountable, and customer-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Performance

  • Oversee daily operations across all departments, including grocery, produce, meat, bakery, tortillería, ice cream shop, restaurant, frontend, and receiving
  • Ensure consistent execution of standards for quality, service, cleanliness, organization, and safety
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including sales, shrink, labor, and profitability
  • Manage inventory control, ordering, receiving, vendor relations, invoicing, and cycle counts
  • Oversee pricing accuracy, promotions, signage, discounts, and merchandising standards
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health requirements, allergen controls, and company policies

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop department managers and store associates
  • Create and manage labor schedules while balancing service levels and labor cost control
  • Conduct performance evaluations and corrective action as needed, in accordance with company policy
  • Foster a high-performance, accountable, and engaged work culture
  • Lead by example on the sales floor and within all departments

Customer Experience & Community

  • Ensure excellent customer service and resolve escalated customer issues
  • Build strong relationships with customers and the local community
  • Monitor store appearance, product presentation, and competitor pricing
  • Drive customer loyalty, satisfaction, and repeat business

Financial & Administrative

  • Manage store budget and P&L performance in partnership with corporate leadership
  • Review sales reports, labor metrics, shrink results, and inventory performance
  • Plan and implement sales strategies and operational improvements
  • Complete required reporting, audits, and compliance documentation
  • Deliver weekly and monthly financial and operational reports

Support & Leadership Structure

The Store Operations Manager (Bilingual) is supported by Department Managers, Corporate Operations, Human Resources, Risk Management, and Safety teams. While the Store Manager (Bilingual)  is the senior leader on site, Talpa Supermarkets provides centralized support to ensure consistent execution, compliance, and operational success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of grocery or retail management experience , including multi-department oversight
  • Strong leadership, operational, and financial management skills
  • Demonstrated experience with inventory management, labor control, and P&L accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple departments in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by business needs, including weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, including basic data analysis and reporting
  • Bilingual Spanish/English (required)
