Title: Registered Nurse (Charge Nurse)Company: Children's Habilitation CenterWebsite: to: Director of NursingSupervisor Responsibilities: NoLocation: 121 W. 154th St in Harvey, IL Purpose: The Registered Nurse (Charge Nurse) will direct delivery of care to Children's Habilitation Center (CHC) residents while utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in compliance with CHC policies, procedures and applicable Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regulations. Responsibilities:Supervises shift nurses and team assistants while monitoring their professional needsCoordinates daily administrative duties including nursing assignments, breaks/lunches, and resident careOversee resident admissions, transfers, and dischargesRecord and maintain accurate shift reportsMentor and train new staff, providing support and guidance to all staff membersMonitor medical charts and provide compassionate care and assistance to residents, visitors, and familiesDevelop/update individual care plans to meet resident needs and achieve treatment goalsPerform routine rounding to assess resident condition every 2 hours or as neededIdentify issues or emergencies, respond calmly and efficiently, and assess the resident, if the resident's status has changed.Inform physicians/Nurse Practitioners of any changes in the patient's progress, condition, or medicinal needs Qualifications:Associate of Nursing degree required; Bachelor's degree preferredActive IL State Registered Nursing licenseBasic Life Support certification (American Heart)Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug testingExperience working with various socioeconomic populations is a plus.Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry at least 50 lbs.Schedule & Attendance Must be available to work a minimum of three (3) shifts within a one-week posted schedule.Must work a weekend rotation that will be included as (2) days towards the (3) shift requirement.If the In-House Registry worker does not work; A minimum of three (3) shifts within a one-week posted schedule, this may be considered a voluntary resignation.I agree to work holiday shifts based on operational needs. All holiday trades should be communicated and approved by the Director of Nursing or his/her designee. If an employee-partner calls off on holiday, the employee-partner will be required to work another holiday to be determined by the Director of Nursing.
